We thought it would be wonderful to be able to lend a helping hand as we are bi-lingual and hold a driver’s licence. We thoroughly enjoy serving the clients; we’ve met all kinds of personalities and have lots of laughs. We’ve been amazed how much our clients depend on the service, the quick visit, the short chat; this is constantly enriching our lives. Sam My name is Sam. I’m a semi-retired businessman and I have been delivering meals for PISA for over six years. I volunteer because I enjoy helping people and in particular practising my language skills with members of the Italian community. I love the pleasure it brings when I arrive with the meals each week, and like to hear how much the clients enjoy the wonderful food. I am aware that the visits of the PISA volunteers are often the highlight of a client’s day – it is not just about the food – and I’m happy that I can help enrich the lives of these people in our community.
